We have finished day one and it is shocking how quickly it is already flying by! We arrived at just before 2 o’clock in time to start our first activities! 

Group 3 with Mrs Bernard includes: Lenny, Junior, Emily C, Lucy M, Bodie, William, Tyson and Grace. 

They started with archery! Tyson was really pleased when he won the archery in the “the Simpsons” team. Everyone managed to get the target though! Lucy M, Emily C and William shocked themselves with how well they did and Lenny, Bodie and Junior all reached high scores! Nell said she is having to be mum and is showing all her room mates how to make their beds properly!

Group 4 is with Mrs Higgs and they have named themselves The Alphas. Their group includes: Woody, Zach WH, Beau, Lila, Zachary P, Zoja, Jibril and Tre. 

They too started with archery. Beau was not impressed Mrs Higgs lost the team’s game, Zoja looked like Katniss Everdeen and Tre was constantly asking about food. The target wasn’t Lila’s friends but she persevered. Through it all, Zachery P was cool calm and collected at archery. After that Zach WH and Jibril needed a hand making their beds but luckily Woody was a pro and helped everyone. 

Mrs Spooner has Group 1 who have named themselves yap-a-tron and includes: Kayson, Jake, Lucy P, Lucie S, Martina, Nell and Ronnie (they certainly lived up to their new titles!) Group 2, also with Mrs Spooner, have named themselves the Grape-a-doodles! This group includes: Zachary J, Olivia, Lola E, Aimee, Jonothan, Chi-Wai, Archie and Nataniel. 

Both groups had archery first and everyone had a good shot. Jake and Zachary J had bows that were nearly as tall as they were! Kayson, Johnathan, Chi-Wai were the top scorers and did some amazing shots. Lucie S was a total pro and knew exactly what to do. Lucy P found the bow really tough but persevered to pull it back and get some shots on target. Lola E, Aimee and Martina all took it in their stride. 

When we returned to the rooms, Nell had made the beds of all of her room mates and then she also has taken care of everyone at dinner!! Ronnie is pleased with his room although making his bed was a bit of a debacle. 

Finally we have groups 5 and 6 with Miss Hosein - they are still deciding their names. Group 5 is: Alex, Sophia, Emily H, Adrian, Logan, Hannah and Jack. Group 6 is: Sonny, Oliver, Jacob, Lillie-Mae, Finley and Lola H. 

These two groups had rock climbing as their first activity! Everyone had a go and did amazingly! Group 5 were told to act like birds as they belayed down Sophia, Hannah and Emily were chickens, Alex as a turkey, Adrian a pigeon (who cooed as he lowered himself down) and most surprisingly was Logan who was a one armed eagle! Jack was absolutely fearless as he climbed up! 

On the other wall Sonny challenged himself to go higher and higher, Lillie zoomed up like a squirrel monkey, Oliver challenged himself to the most challenging climb and Finley did amazing but went slightly splat like a pancake into the wall. He really did have the most graceful descents as he ended up lying on the mat after his climbs! Jacob and Lola H showed incredible perseverance as they pushed themselves to beat their own personal bests! 

We finished the day with pasta with three choices of sauce. Olivia has enjoyed her first meal - particularly the cookie!! After that, we ended the evening with a quiz. We had a highly debated chocolate round and an intense Disney music quiz in which Grace wowed everyone! She was a true Disney expert! 

We have a mix of canoeing, abseiling and high ropes tomorrow which we are all looking forward to.
