Science afternoon - Badgers

The whole school had an afternoon learning about different nocturnal animals. Year 2 learnt about badgers. Our key question was 'how do badgers find food in the dark'. We did an experiment to see if we can identify different food without using our eyes, only using our noses - a bit like how badgers find food! There were 5 foods that were covered up in a cup (ginger, garlic, mint, banana and orange). We were very good at guessing what the different foods were! Diamond enjoyed learning that badgers have very good hearing and are very good at smelling food but have weak eyesight.
